Dear Rotarians:
I am pleased to announce the opportunity to submit applications for 2008
International RYLA participants. As you may know, the International RYLA is
an event where individuals ages 18-30 from all across the world meet to learn
advanced leadership techniques and explore current issues and topics pertinent to
leadership in a global society. The 2008 International RYLA will take place 12-15
June in Los Angeles, California, USA, immediately preceding the RI Convention.
The 2007-08 RYLA Committee has opened the eligibility requirements to include
all individuals between the ages 18-30 who are not Rotarians, but have
extensive experience in the following Rotary or Rotary Foundation programs:
· Ambassadorial Scholarships
· Group Study Exchange
· Interact
· Rotaract
· Rotary Peace and Conflict Studies Program
· Rotary World Peace Fellowships
· RYLA
· Youth Exchange
Please consider this opportunity and discuss it with your district’s RYLA
committee to determine how your club or district will sponsor applicants to
benefit from this extraordinary experience. I would also ask you to share this
information with clubs and eligible program participants between the ages of 18-
30 to ensure that interested applicants are aware of this opportunity.
The deadline for applications is 15 December 2007. Space is limited to 150
participants, and attendance is determined on a rolling basis, so apply early.
Please find an application for youth participants attached to this correspondence.

This event is a wonderful and unique opportunity for Rotary’s New Generations
to further develop their leadership skills, while also allowing them to experience
the magic of Rotary at the 2008 RI Convention! I encourage you to take this
opportunity to nominate outstanding program alumni and show that Rotary
Shares with the New Generations.
Yours in Rotary,
