Criteria for the Rotarian of the Year Award

Nominations require submission of information by March 1, 2010, outlining the Candidate’s fulfillment of the following award criteria:

  1. Is a loyal, dedicated Rotarian, demonstrated by his/her level of attendance, participation, and acceptance of responsible positions in the Club and District functions for a minimum of 5 years.  The performance of these duties should exceed normal expectations.  Please note, extra weight will be given to District participation.
  2. Always exemplifies fellowship and ideals of Rotary as interpreted in the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self.”
  3. Supports the Rotary Foundation, is a Paul Harris Fellow, multiple PHF or Major Donor, and is a Benefactor or Bequest Society Member.
  4. Sponsored a minimum of three new members during the past 5 years. New members can be sponsored for membership into any Rotary Club.
  5. Strives to live the 4-Way Test in his/her personal and professional life and in clubs, community, international and vocational service activities.
  6. Encourages and fosters the ideal of service as set forth in the “Object of Rotary.”

Please submit the nomination in the format as outlined above.  Nominees must meet all criteria. Nominees must be individuals (as opposed to pairs or groups) and may not have previously been selected as this District’s Rotarian of the Year.

The committee reserves the right to not give an award if it feels the nominations received do not meet all the required criteria.
